This quintessential Devon village has a number of eateries where you can enjoy everything from a traditional pub lunch and a pint to fish & chips and other seafood delights. There’s also a village store and a post office if you need to run any errands during your stay.
Mortehoe Museum offers great insight into the village’s rich history, from its agricultural and wartime endeavours to its fascinating smuggler’s history. Outside the museum, you’ll also find a kids’ play area, perfect for burning off all that extra energy.
The South West Coast Path is easily accessed from the village with a circular walk to Morte Point and Bull Point. The latter is also home to a lighthouse, where you’ll be able to learn more about Mortehoe’s smuggling and wrecking history while admiring the dramatic scenery. And, if you’re lucky, you may even see the local resident seals!
