Apple & Honey Harvest
Nothing screams October like apples and honey, a mix of warm and sweet. Quince Honey Farm has its Apple and Honey Harvest this October, featuring several seasonal activities. Some of the activities include candle making, an apple show, honey extracting and tasting, and more.

Autumnfest at Arlington Court
This is perfect for the whole family as it offers lots of autumn decorations in and around a stunning building. With so many seasonal displays, Autumnfest is also the perfect photo opportunity! There are a few activities on offer, such as a free guided walk, a scarecrow trail, and certain autumnal crafts. Arlington Court is a National Trust property, so entry is free for members or at the standard admission price for non-members. Well worth a visit if you haven’t been before.

The whole family wanting some activities for children, and also for couples looking for a cosy, autumnal wander this October.

Postcode Week at Woody Bay Station
Fancy a cheap train ride on a Victorian railway from the 1890s? Throughout October, Woody Bay Station is offering £2 train rides for locals. If you are able to show proof of your address, you can get the special offer ride. This applies to EX and TA postcodes and even better, children under 14 travel completely free during Postcode Week too.
Enjoy a cosy train ride roughly 20 minutes long on a beautiful Victorian train this October. The route runs through some stunning North Devon countryside, making it a lovely outing whatever the weather and a brilliant experience for little ones who love trains. After your ride, it’s also worth knowing that the Old Station Inn, just a 4 mile drive from Woody Bay Station, offers 20% off food when you show your valid travel tickets. A great way to round off the trip!

The Cliff Railway in Lights
If you have visited Lynton and Lynmouth before, you will be familiar with the unique cliff railway connecting the twin villages. Well, for a couple of days this October, the cliff railway takes on a new look, illuminated by lights, creating a brand new experience. You don’t want to miss this experience this October. We highly recommend a visit to Lynton and Lynmouth, starting with a hearty dinner in one of their eateries, followed by an evening experience on the cliff railway, ending with a hot cup of tea in one of our cosy Lynmouth holiday cottages.
