Highfields is a stylish detached bungalow, perfectly placed for those who love peace and quiet yet want to be within walking distance of Woolacombe’s golden sands, bustling village pubs, independent shops and welcoming restaurants. Nestled on a hillside overlooking the award-winning beach, this light and stylish retreat is an ideal base for couples, families or friends seeking a relaxing coastal break.

Inside, the open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining space is designed for both comfort and style. Large windows frame superb sea views, while a modern wood burner and plush sofas make this the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring North Devon. The sleek kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need, including an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, fridge and slimline dishwasher, plus a coffee machine and sound bar for added touches of luxury. A fridge/freezer is conveniently located in the shed at the rear of the property, and the external garage offers a practical utility space with washing machine, tumble dryer and even a wet room – ideal after sandy beach days.

Two inviting bedrooms provide a restful night’s sleep: one with a king-size bed, the other with twins, both equipped with TVs and ample storage. They share a modern family bathroom.

Highfields makes the most of its elevated position with a wide decked balcony at the front—perfect for morning coffee or sunset drinks with panoramic sea views. To the rear, the enclosed garden features a lawn and a second decked patio complete with outdoor dining furniture and a gas barbecue, creating an idyllic setting for al fresco meals on summer evenings.

From your doorstep, it’s just a short downhill walk to Woolacombe Beach—an iconic 3-mile stretch of golden sand repeatedly voted one of the best beaches in the UK. Beyond the shoreline, Woolacombe village offers a friendly, laid-back vibe, while nearby gems include the dramatic coastal paths of Morte Point and Baggy Point, the picturesque harbour town of Ilfracombe (6 miles), and the rugged beauty of Exmoor National Park. For golf enthusiasts, the championship links course at Saunton is only 7 miles away.

Entrance hall: Entrance hall with coat hooks and area for boots and shoes.
Living room: Soft comfortable sofas. Large Smart TV with Disney+ and Netflix, Sound bar, Blu-ray DVD player, wood burning stove and patio doors leading to decked balcony, boasting impressive sea views.
Kitchen: Well equipped modern, fitted kitchen with electric oven & gas hob, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, integrated dishwasher, fridge, Dualit coffee machine, and a variety of kitchen utensils. There is a dining table and chairs seating 6.
Bedroom 1: King size bedroom with hanging rail, chest of drawers, bedsides, and TV.
Bedroom 2:  Twin bedroom with two single beds, hanging rail and bedside, and TV.
Family Bathroom : Bath with shower over, wash basin and WC.
Utility area in garage: Housing washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board and iron and a wet room. Storage and drying area in garage (external access only).
Gardens: A combination of lawn and decked patio in rear garden, leading out from the kitchen. Table and chairs on rear patio and gas BBQ. Front balcony boasts impressive sea views and balcony furniture. Fridge/freezer housed in shed at the rear of the property.
Parking: Driveway parking for up to 2 vehicles.  On street parking also available. 12 Steps up to front door from driveway.
Pets: No pets allowed.
Facilities and Services: Linen and towels provided (excluding beach towels). Gas central heating. Wi Fi Broadband. Disney+ and Netflix included. No smoking. Balcony and garden furniture provided. Iron and ironing board. Travel cot and highchair provided. Wood burner (first basket of logs provided between September to April). Short term breaks available.  Arrival & departure for weekly bookings is Friday.
Security Deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £150, which is payable with the final balance of your holiday, ten weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 7 working days of your departure.

Fabulous bungalow, so well equipped. We’ve loved the area for over 40 years and it was lovely to return. We had fantastic weather ; rain on the first day which cleared to enable us to walk down the hill and back again , in fact we managed it 4 times (down and up) during the week with a few pauses to catch breath.

The house was ideally located for days out too; Croyde, Arlington Court, Ilfracombe, Wildlife & Dinosaur park, Lynton& Lynmouth Cliff railway, all of which were enjoyed by our young family. This is our second stay here, Once again we had a wonderful time. This time we tried the Sri Lankan curry at Barricane beach and it was delicious.  We also enjoyed finding fun play areas for the children in Mortehoe and Croyde. The children also enjoyed visiting Watermouth Castle  – lots of fun and friendly people.  We were blessed with good weather so enjoyed the beaches of Woolacombe, Croyde and Barricane.  A browse around Braunton and a picnic overlooking Saunton Sands was enjoyable too.  We hope to return again , we could stare at the views from the  patio doors all day!

Wow, wow, wow! This has been an amazing week. Weather was glorious , Highfields just was perfect thank you so much for sharing your beautiful holiday home with us, you have thought of everything . So well equipped, the lovely scones cream and prosecco was a lovely welcome. The views are stunning and sunsets from the veranda perfect.  We shall return.  Places we visited “Barricane Beach Cafe” the Sri Lankan curry was fantastic; Woolacombe beach, Putsborough sands – amazing; RHS Rosemoor Gardens beautiful. The last night we had an amazing  Thai curry in Braunton “Siam Bistro” You definitely need to book this!
